Seminar on Hot Issues in International Tax Reform Successfully Held by BRITA·Yangzhou

From 25 to 29 May 2026, the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Academy·Yangzhou (BRITA·Yangzhou) successfully hosted a seminar on "Hot Issues in International Tax Reform". The five-day event brought together 21 fiscal and tax officials from seven jurisdictions, including Angola, Brazil, Georgia, Hungary, Sierra Leone, Uzbekistan, and Macao, China. Select sessions were livestreamed with simultaneous interpretation in Chinese, English, French, and Russian, drawing 160 online participants.
 
 
The seminar featured lectures on the Belt and Road Initiative, digital transformation of tax administration, challenges and responses to the Two-Pillar solution, cross-border tax dispute resolution, and the application of artificial intelligence in tax governance. Participants also engaged in interactive exchange sessions, sharing insights into their respective tax systems and recent reforms. As part of the programme, attendees visited the Jiangsu Smart Taxation Experience Center and participated in a roundtable with local enterprises engaged in outbound investment.
 
At the closing ceremony, participants expressed their their appreciation to China’s tax authorities and the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM). They noted that the training enhanced their understanding of international tax reforms and modern tax administration practices, and that such capacity-building initiatives under the Belt and Road framework are of significant value. Many expressed their interest in continued cooperation.
