BRITACOM Successfully Hosts 2026 Capacity Building Programme Briefing

On 28 January 2026, the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM) successfully held a briefing session for its 2026 BRITACEG Training Programs. The event convened over 200 participants, including tax officials and experts from 22 jurisdictions, representatives from the Belt and Road Tax Academies (BRITAs), universities, and prospective trainees. Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on training arrangements and application procedures.
 
 
During the opening session, Ms. Lyu Lan, Director of BRITACOM Secretariat, delivered a welcome address, expressing gratitude to all parties for their active participation. To better understand the needs of relevant parties, the meeting featured a questionnaire survey through which attendees provided valuable feedback and constructive suggestions.
 
In the first session, Ms. Lyu Lan reviewed BRITACEG’s achievements in 2025 and outlined priorities for 2026. Mr. Khai Lian Cin Thang, Director of Internal Revenue Department from the Ministry of Finance and Revenue of Myanmar, shared insights and reflections as a representative of former trainees. Subsequently, representatives from six BRITAs—Yangzhou, Algiers, Astana, Beijing, Macao, and Riyadh—presented their respective training activities, institutional development, and roles as regional training hubs.
 
The second session featured Professor Zhu Yansheng from Xiamen University, Director of the China-OECD LLM Programme on Taxation,who provided a comprehensive overview of the program’s objectives, curriculum features, faculty expertise, admission procedures, and internship arrangements. Ms. Lucélia Guedes Guimarães, Tax Auditor at the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service, shared her experiences as program alumna, commending the program’s academic excellence and practical value.
During the Q&A session, attendees raised questions regarding registration procedures, certification requirements, and application details. Representatives from BRITACEG and Xiamen University provided  responses, fostering a dynamic and interactive exchange.
 
This briefing marked BRITACOM’s inaugural event for 2026. Moving forward, BRITACOM will continue to organize seminars, exchanges and training programs, further strengthening its role as a robust platform for communication and collaboration among BRI jurisdictions.
