BRITACʘM to Postpone the Second BRITACOF to May 2021

updated:2020-04-30

The unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak has been spreading around the world posing enormous threats to the public health and formidable challenges to the global economy. Based on consultation with the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan (host of the Second Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum - BRITACOF), the BRITACʘM has made the decision to postpone the Second BRITACOF to May 2021 in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.

In this context, the BRITACʘM, while proceeding as mandated by the MoU and Wuzhen Action Plan (2019-2021), will remain to be an active mechanism to provide due assistance to those in need through collecting and sharing information in respect of tax policy and administration measures taken by tax authorities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic on the webpage. Meanwhile, we are also exploring feasible options to launch some virtual events, particularly focusing on topics of common concern, to allow us to stay close online in this challenging time.

We would like to take this opportunity to share with you that things are going reasonably well despite this pandemic. Five task forces are tightening their pace to flesh out their respective reports, the BRITACʘM website and dedicated BRITACʘM Journal will be officially launched soon as planned.

Being the waves of the same sea, leaves of the same tree and flowers of the same garden in the current community with shared future for mankind, we firmly believe that the world with concerted efforts will surely defeat the pandemic and we will be able to restore full confidence and join each other in Nur-sultan for a milestone Second Conference of the BRITACʘM in May 2021.
